We are situated about 100Km north of Bordeaux and about 10Km north of Royan. We are within 5Km of the Atlantic coast with its clear sandy beaches.
There is a village shop within a few minutes walk which sells most of what you need and of course fresh bread, the nearest hyper market (Le Clerc) is about 10Km away towards Royan.

Palmyre Zoo
| The nearest beach is the Plage de Grande-Cote which is 5Km away, in all there is about 30Km of clean sandy beaches stretching down to Royan. The beach at Grande-Cote is accessible by foot from the car park which is in the forest, the forest also contains numerous picnic sites While Royan is the main town there are a number of others, south of Plage de Grande-Cote by about 5Km is the very pretty seaside town of St. Palais while north about 10Km is Ronce Les Bains, a fairly typical French seaside town. We are five or six kilometres from the Zoo at Palmyre, an ideal way to spend an aftern oon if the sun is not out (unlikely!) but the Zoo is worth a visit anyway.
